Canal Road is a mystery drama mini series set in a thriving medical-legal centre in the heart of Melbourne. Every episode blows open the secret lives of the professionals who work there and the clients who seek their help. Canal Road is sexy, thrilling, dangerous — and always entertaining.

The staff at Canal Road all have secrets, some dark and dangerous, others light and humorous. Canal Road is the crucible where these secrets collide, where friendships and loyalties are tested, where mysteries bubble to the surface and skeletons from the past return to haunt them.

Central to Canal Road is Spence McKay, one of Melbourne's top young psychiatrists. Spence has been struggling to get his life back on track since his wife and son were killed in a car accident. When he learns their deaths were no accident, he embarks on a quest to find the murderer and avenge his loved ones.

Over 13 one-hour episodes, Spence gradually uncovers a tangled mystery of murder, corruption and cover-ups stretching to the very top of the political and business worlds. It's a quest that will take him to the brink and have a profound effect on all his colleagues.

In each episode the team at Canal Road is confronted with mysterious, sometimes humorous and always intriguing problems. There's the ex-patient of Canal Road's MD Olivia Bates, haunted by the disappearance of her twin sister. The mother and daughter clients who are exposed as con artists, but not before they seduce Steve Yunnane, Canal Road's lawyer. The violent criminal stalking corrections officer Holly Chong, who meanwhile is falling in love with one of her clients. The clairvoyant who might be a fake ... or possibly hiding a dark secret. The charismatic ex-rock star who suffers from memory loss and breaks nurse Bridget's heart.
