无意间下到这张专辑,是由Alexander Mackenzie(1847-1935)作曲,BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra演奏的作品.专辑主要收录了Alexander Mackenzie的5首作品.第一首壁炉上的蟋蟀(The Cricket on the Heart)可算是作曲家的经典之作了,同样,在整张专辑里也显得尤为出色,以长号,小提琴,簧管的配合表现的美妙无比.

麦肯齐（Alexander Mackenzie，1847-1935），苏格兰作曲家、小提琴家。1857-1862年就学于宗德斯豪森音乐学院，1862-1865年进皇家音乐学院深造，1865-1879年在爱丁堡任小提琴师与指挥等职，1879-1888年寓居佛罗伦萨，1888-1924年任皇家音乐学院院长。这首管弦乐序曲《十二夜》，OP. 40，作于1888年，布拉宾斯
(Brabbins) 1994年指挥BBC苏格兰交响乐团版,还有麦肯齐为室内乐而作的《祝福》（Baiedicus, OP. 37，作于1888年）、《第二号苏格兰狂想曲》（OP. 24，作于1880年）、歌剧《炉边蟋蟀》（The Cricker on theHearth,OP.62）序曲。《企鹅》评介三星。
