Deana Carter ，1966年出生，美国的乡村唱作人，从1997年发行了她的debut single《Strawberry Wine》开始，目前已经出过了六张专辑，其中有四张都在乡村榜和公告牌上取得了名次，还有三首单曲《Strawberry Wine》、《We Danced Anyway》、《How Do I Get There》取得过美国乡村榜第一名的好成绩，全部出自她的debut album《Did I Shave My Legs for This》，可以看出她最辉煌的日子在1997年。Deana Carter在国内还不算特别有名，这是她的第七张专辑，主要记录了她的生活轨迹，特别用来感谢这些年来影响她最深的爸爸，家庭，还有与她一起工作的乐队成员和朋友们，整个专辑的创作主题，让这张专辑充满了柔情女人的魅力，专辑大部分都是慢版的抒情歌，不过我总感觉POP FOLK味大于COUNTRY味。

被Newsweek杂志喻为下一个世纪百位美国人之一的Deana Carter 的新专辑时隔两年终于推出了。值得一提的是她从2001年开始真的是每两年推出一张全新专辑，2005年推出的《Story of My Life》之后我们就一直在盼，终于到2007年了，我们终于盼到了他的新专辑《The Chain 》的诞生。

可能毕竟是两年的时光，Deana Carter 的新专辑的风格和她的其他专辑风格略有不同，整张专辑融合了特有的美国乡村演唱风格再加上Deana Carter那独有的清爽嗓音和销魂的演唱风格，使得这张专辑绝对可以在这个秋天闭上眼静静的聆听！

Deana Kay Carter (born January 4, 1966 in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.) is an American country music singer-songwriter who broke through in 1997 with the release of debut single "Strawberry Wine", which reached Number One on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. It was followed by the release of her debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This, which produced two additional Number One singles and was certified 5x Platinum in the United States for sales of over five million. To date, Deana has recorded six studio albums, one greatest hits album, and charted eleven singles on the country charts.

Each of the 12 songs on The Chain has a special importance to Deana, who personally chose material that had a great impact on her early life. She took the same care in recruiting collaborators for the project, assembling a group of musicians who influenced her as an artist - none more greatly than her father, legendary session player Fred Carter, Jr, who performs throughout the album. "Ever since I knew that music was going to be my life's path, I've wanted to pay tribute to my dad and to the artists who were so good to me and my family. The camaraderie between them, and the way they took our family and made it part of their families, was so unique that I wanted to recapture it for a little while," states Deana.
