故事回溯到1996年，这个来自瑞典的五人前卫金属乐团成立于哥德堡，他们师法前辈Dream Theater、Symphony X、Threshold，以前卫的曲式、古典的风格融合卓越的技巧和深奥的歌词故事内容，发展出属于自己的音乐风格，第一张专辑《The Dark Discovery》于1998年由Gothenburg Noiseworks发行，翌年发行第二张专辑《Solitude Dominance Tragedy》，这两张作品为他们奠定了良好的基础。2000年更换东家改迁德国前卫金属名厂Inside Out，2001年发行《In Search For Truth》，知名度渐行远播，2003年发表概念专辑《Recreation Day》，跻身为前卫金属一线团体。

2004年最新专辑《The Inner Circle》发表，依然广受乐界好评。A Touch Of Blessing以激昂的曲式揭开序幕，高亢的歌声有如上帝的关怀拥抱着人类。Ambassador疾速的进行，从天而降的使者穿梭三界，扮演天堂、凡间、地狱的沟通大使。In The Wake Of The Weary讲述生命皆有周期，疲劳的尽头是苏醒，精湛的乐句贯穿全曲。Harmless Wishes以复杂的变拍和跳拍描写一个虚幻的愿望，只有有心人能够达成。Waking Up Blind深情的吟唱唤醒蒙蔽的知觉，优美的歌声感人肺腑。More Than Ever沉重的节拍响透云霄，键盘花俏的点缀游走，坚毅的信念更加执着。The Essence Of Conviction让人听了仿佛沉醉布DT的音乐之中，前卫金属的魅力莫过于此。Where All Good Sleep以中板进行，魔音琴的特效为全曲增色不少。Faith Restored是首抒情曲，以钢弦吉他导入，主唱深情的歌声将全曲带入高潮。When The Walls Go Down描写一段不可思议的奇幻旅程，钢琴搭配叙事性的故事内容可说是高潮迭起。I Am Sorry、Recreation Day、Madness Caught Another Victim三首特别追加的不插电乐曲，撷取于巴黎演唱会。

在瑞典众多金属乐团林立之下，Evergrey以特殊的风格和坚强的毅力打下一片江山，论实力他们绝对不会比老大哥Dream Theater来的逊色，《The Inner Circle》这张专辑堪称2004年十大金属名作。（介绍转的，对04年的专辑评价的比较多，当然2006的东西也还不错！05年的是Live）
