On A Clear Night' was recorded in L.A. with producer Mitchell Froom (Crowded House, Elvis Costello, Finn Brothers, Ron Sexsmith).

"Working with Mitchell was such an empowering experience", says Missy. "He's made so many great singer/songwriter style records yet his main priority was always to help me make the record I wanted to make.

He's full of all these brilliant ideas but he never tried to impose anything on me;he just let me take my time and we let the songs unfold the way they wanted to. The result, I think,is a record with a real depth to it and I'm so proud of it. "

Apart from brief guest performances with KaseyChambers in Tamworth in January and dueting with Paul Kelly to launch their song from the recent Kev Carmody tribute album, Missy has not performed Australian concerts in well over a year.

However,between now and the EP release Missy will unveil her new live band with a handful of festival appearances including the East and West Coast Blues and Roots Festivals.

As befits an artist who built her audience through endless touring she will then do her own truly national concert tour immediately following the album's release.

"I'm really looking forward to finally getting back on the road and playing with the new band", says Missy.

"The last album and all the touring that went with it was an amazing experience but I was so young and it was all so new- it kind of rushed by in a blur. This time around I feel more ready.

I've got a lot more confidence in myself as a performer and as a songwriter and I have a much stronger idea of what I want to do with my music. Hopefully people will be able to hear that in these new songs."
